My first priority after taking command was getting around the corps to visit you.

For the past two weeks, traveling across Forts Bliss, Carson, Hood, Riley, and Sill, I have witnessed the incredible discipline and motivation that reflects positively on our Phantom Corps’ 101-year history.

My wife, Emma, and I met many wonderful people across III Corps, who conveyed genuine concern for troops and Families. Emma noted the professionalism and hospitality of everyone we met, and deeply appreciated the candor and free-flowing conversations she had on the trip.

Command Sgt. Maj. Hendrex and I visited tactical training, checked motorpools, toured barracks and housing. We met with division and brigade leaders and I shared my vision for the III Armored Corps; we will train and sustain the world’s most lethal force. Period. Our greatest resource is our people — the nearly 100,000 Phantom Warrior Soldiers and civilians who are staunch advocates for our Army Values. We will maximize the potential of our people by developing leaders focused on building winning teams. We will draw strength from our corps’ rich heritage and the diversity of our units, locations and people. We each embrace our role in writing the next chapter in the storied legacy of America’s Hammer.

Plainly stated; I am focused on lethality, values, leader development and people.

To ensure you have the best facilities to train for lethality and maintain morale, we will continue to press for funding for our gyms, ranges, motorpools/warehouses, and barracks.
