To the Soldiers, Families and community of the III Armored Corps and Fort Hood,
As a nation we dedicate Memorial Day to the solemn remembrance of our rich heritage of brave men and women who selflessly paid the ultimate price to preserve our freedom.
As we honor the memory of our fallen brothers and sisters, we likewise recognize the Gold Star Families that have lost loved ones – spouses, siblings, parents and children.
Freedom is not free, it never has been. It comes at a high price that is paid in the precious lives of America’s sons and daughters.
As a nation, we are forever indebted to our fallen and their Families.
As the III Armored Corps just celebrated its 101st birthday, we are reminded of our storied and illustrious legacy of selfless service.
A heritage of American heroes that have never failed to answer the nation’s call with a resounding “Send me!” It is a legacy of tenacious, selfless patriots that willingly confronted tyranny.
Men and women that refused to back down as they ensured the defeat of evil. It is with our deepest heartfelt gratitude that we honor the fallen and their Families, and continue to uphold the ideals they fought for. They will never be forgotten.
Phantom Ready! Phantom Strong!
