As we stand on the cusp of another holiday period, we want to pause, reflect and say thank you for everything you’ve done this year.

2022 has been another phenomenal year for us, but it passed in the blink of an eye. It is important that we stop and think about the highs and lows, the good times and the challenges. We should look around us and appreciate who and what we have. We must remember those deployed on operations, their families and loved ones and those facing challenges. We should also reflect on those who are no longer with us.

The tempo at Ill Armored Corps and Fort Hood has been demanding, yet extremely fruitful. We achieved outstanding results in our large-scale training evolutions. Our response to the crisis in Europe is a testament to our readiness. At the garrison level, we secured incredible levels of investment to ensure world class facilities and a high quality of life. At the individual level, we continued to put our people first - developing proficient, engaged and empathetic leaders who care for our Soldiers, our DA civilians, and our families.

None of these achievements would be possible without the support and love of our families, friends and the amazing communities that surround us. They are all too often the ones carrying the load back home, keeping the home fires burning, ever-present as a shoulder to lean on when times get tough. We owe each and every one of them a particular word of thanks now and always.

Finally, please take the time to think of others, specifically those who might be alone at a time when togetherness is so important to us all. Please reach out, offer a helping hand, share some kindness - such kindness could make all the difference to them and help them through a moment of crisis.

Thank you, again, for who you are and all that you do. We would be nothing without each and every one of you. It is an honor to serve with you!
