Effective May 1, Fort Hood Housing Services Office will no longer issue rental and utility security deposit waivers to service members and their Families.

The Deposit Waiver Program was developed to reduce initial out-of-pocket expenses and financial burdens of service members and Families who experienced numerous permanent changes of station during their military careers.

Discontinuance of the Deposit Waiver Program is the result of personnel reductions and the need to reduce some of the services currently provided.

Although no new waivers will be issued, service members are still required to return previously issued deposit waivers to the Housing Services Office in order to receive the official housing office stamp on their installation clearance records.

The Housing Services Office would like to extend its appreciation to the participating utility and rental companies that have been in the program for the past 30 years. Participation by these companies and individuals has contributed to the service members’ peace of mind, by reducing financial burdens realized during numerous relocations, and has contributed to a working relationship between the local community and Fort Hood that ultimately benefited our service members.
