Festival on Nolan Creek

Celebrate the Fourth of July in Belton at the Festival on Nolan Creek. The festival is open to the public and free of charge at Yettie Polk Park and Confederate Park.

The Texas Old Time Fiddler’s contest is returning for the ninth year.

PRCA Rodeo

Rodeo action is back in Belton July 5-7 at the Bell County Expo Center. Performances are 7-9:30 p.m. each night. This year’s PRCA rodeo will feature Lancaster and Pickett Pro Rodeo Company out of Fairfield.



COLLEGE STATION

Starlight Music Series

The Starlight Music series has kicked off in

College Station’s Wolf Pen Creek

Ampitheater and will continue to bring live

music entertainment throughout the summer.

Residents and visitors can load up their picnic baskets, coolers, blankets and lawn

chairs for a night under the stars at the

ampitheater.

Admission is free to all events and gates open at 6 p.m. Guests may bring their own refreshments, but glass containers are not allowed. Coolers must be 48 quarts or

smaller.

AUSTIN

Texas Police Games

The Texas Police Games will be held Thursday-Sunday in Austin.

Hosted by the Travis County Sheriff’s Department, the games will test

participants’ skill in the following categories: flag football (Co-Ed), S.W.A.T., duathlon, salt water fishing tournament, dominoes,

submission wrestling, skeet/trap, soccer, 5K & 10K run, archery, K-9 patrol, bass tournament, volleyball, track & field, Texas pentathlon, tennis, softball, rifle, racquetball, powerlifting, pistols, tactical, mountain bike, K-9

narcotics, karate, golf, flag football, cycling,

bowling, billiards, basketball, archery

and more.

Full-time corrections officers, law

enforcement, firefighters and military are

eligible to participate. Law enforcement reserves must meet one-year minimum requirement.

All competitors must register online before participating in any event(s) and must personally check-in at registration, which will be at the Omni Austin Hotel at Southpark,

4140 Governors Row, Austin, during the week of the games.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey will bring circus entertainment to the Frank Erwin Center Aug. 22-26 with their

Austin benefits fair

A free “come and go” benefits fair for Texas veterans will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 21 at the Norris Conference

Center, 2525 West Anderson Ln., Austin. The fair, targeting all Central Texas-area veterans,

is one of several throughout the state.

Officials from the Texas Veterans Land Board will be on hand to provide information on state programs including land, housing and home improvement loans as well as Texas state veterans cemeteries and nursing homes for veterans.

DCI Austin

DCI Austin returns to the Drum Corps International Tour schedule this summer as a mid-season showcase of top world class corps. The Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex in Round Rock will play host to this competition

July 19 to kick off a weeklong series of events throughout Texas.

DCI Austin is one in a series of more than 100 national events that make up the annual tour. Performances feature visual formations and choreography set to classical, jazz, pop and rock music.

From the popular Emmy-award winning children’s television program Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood comes this musical tribute to Fred Rogers, who has impacted the lives of young children and their families for generations.

Patriot Kids Camp will hold a life-skills camp June 28, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at Patriot Retreat/Camp, 10208 Cedar Knob Church Rd., Salado.
