Combatives Championship
In 2011, the III Corps Combatives Team celebrated its second consecutive Army team championship.
Starting today, Fort Hood hosts the 2012 tournament with the hopes of winning a third-straight team title.
The 2012 U.S. Army Combatives Championship begins today with preliminary bouts at 9 a.m. at Abrams Physical Fitness Center.
Semifinal bouts begin at 9 a.m. Friday at Abrams.
The finals begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Abrams.
More than 300 soldiers from 28 teams will competed in the eight seperate weight classes in the
event.

Summer bowling
All summer long, the Phantom Warrior Lanes at Fort Hood offers a “Summer Special.”
Every weekday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., the bowling alley offers special discounted rates on open bowling.
During the summer, the cost of each game is $1.75 per bowler. The Summer Special at the lanes runs through Aug. 24. The price does not include shoe rentals and cannot be used with other specials or promotions.
The Phantom Warrior Lanes are located on Clear Creek Road at Santa Fe Avenue.

Join now in the latest fitness craze sweeping America – Zumba.
Come sweat to some great Latin beats Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:45 a.m-12:45 p.m. at Abrams Physical Fitness Center and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-2 p.m. at the Applied Fitness Center. Or, if weeknights are preferred, select classes are available.
