9/11 honored with celebration of freedom

Soldiers from the 4th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, demonstrate how to properly fold an American flag during a celebration of freedom Sept. 11 at Trimmier Elementary School in Killeen.

Students from Trimmier Elementary School wave American flags as a choir sings patriotic songs during a celebration of freedom Sept. 11 in Killeen. Soldiers from the 4th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division also took part in the event. During the event, the Soldiers properly displayed how to fold an American flag and marched with the students around the school’s perimeter. The battalion commander, Lt. Col. Hank Perry, was the guest speaker for the event. “Today was a day to honor and cherish the freedoms that we have and to honor those who died on this day 11 years ago,” Perry said.
