On Nov. 19, at a general court-martial convened at Fort Hood, a private first class assigned to 1st Cavalry Division was convicted by a military judge of three specifications of the wrongful distribution of marijuana, two specifications of the wrongful introduction with intent to distribute marijuana, and one specification of the wrongful use of marijuana in violation of Article 112a, UCMJ. The military judge sentenced the accused to be reduced to the grade of E-1, to be confined for 185 days, and to be discharged from the service with a bad-conduct discharge.
At a general court-martial convened at Fort Hood Nov. 22, a sergeant assigned to 1st Cav. Div. was convicted by a military panel composed of enlisted members, contrary to his pleas, of one specification of possession of child pornography, one specification of production of child pornography, and one specification of rape of a child in violation of Articles 134 and 120b, UCMJ. The members sentenced the accused to be reduced to the grade of E-1, to forfeit all pay and allowances, to be confined for life with the possibility of parole, and to be discharged from the service with a dishonorable discharge.
