Ready to assist
Elements of the 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade and the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cav. Div., departed Fort Hood Monday to be prepositioned and provide assistance to Federal Emergency Management Agency-led Hurricane Dorian relief efforts, if needed. A 1st Cav. Div. spokesman said the ACB deployed lift and medical evacuation aircraft to Fort Rucker, Alabama, while the Sust. Bde. prepositioned troops at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. “Both units will remain ready to work closely with U.S. Northern Command and the variety of federal, state and local agencies involved to support response operations where needed,” Lt. Col. Chris Brautigam, 1st Cav. Div. public affairs officer, said.

Athletes of Valor is scouring the country looking for the best athletes currently serving in the U.S. military, who want to transition into college athletic programs.
This event is set for 6-10 p.m. Saturday at Hood Stadium and 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Sunday at West Fort Hood Physical Fitness Center. The combine is free and open to all active duty military members. Participants should expect the following trials: Combine testing, individual position training, team drills, college recruiting process and one-on-one training.
