Fort Hood’s Oktoberfest is set for 5-10 p.m. this Saturday at the Phantom Warrior Center. The event is touted as the largest fall festival of the year and will include activities such as a pumpkin patch, bratwurst eating contest, keg toss contest, strongman competition, German festival costume contest, kids zone, arts and crafts vendors and beer sales. You’re invited to a free complementary advance screening of the upcoming family film The Addams Family, Sunday at Fort Hood’s Palmer Theater. Tickets are available now and can be picked up at the Clear Creek Exchange, TJ Mills Food Court, and the First Cavalry Division Burger King. Tickets are first come, first served and do not guarantee seating. Doors open at 1 p.m., show starts at 3 p.m.


NAF Vehicle Auction is set for 8 a.m. Oct. 12 at Yard 26. Organizers will auction off unclaimed impounded vehicles until everything is sold. All sales are final “as is, where is, no warranty.” Cash, credit and checks accepted. The event is open to the public. Cost is $3 (cash only) includes bidding card and auction listing. Online auction listing will be available closer to the event date. Early registration and vehicle viewing is set for 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 7-11, Monday-Friday, at Yard 36. On-site registration is available at 7 a.m. Oct. 12, with auction starting promptly at 8 a.m. For more information, call 254-287-2725.
