Santa Fe Avenue set to close
The Santa Fe Avenue Gate is set to close from Friday to Jun. 30 due to construction. Drivers will only be able to use the northbound lanes to make a U-turn back to the southbound lanes to exit. The southbound lanes will remain closed during this time.
Safety stop signs implemented
Temporary stop signs are now in place at 24th Street and Wainwright Drive as a safety precaution for children traveling to and from school.
This is a 30-day trial to see if it helps children walking to school.
Physical training traffic is affected for those who pass by that intersection. Soldiers are advised to give themselves additional time to make it to morning PT.
Gyms open for families
Three fitness centers are now open for all authorized DoD ID Card holders. Burba Physical Fitness Center, Ironhorse Physical Fitness Center and West Fort Hood Physical Fitness Center is open at 50% capacity. Masks are required for entry and must be worn if social distance cannot be maintained. Visit https://hood.armymwr.com for full hours and any updates.
