Armistice Day, now known as Veterans Day, celebrated peace and renounced war at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Throughout the world, people will celebrate in a multitude of ways. Listed below are notable events which will take place in Texas.

Nov. 11

Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade

The Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade will host its 102nd Veterans Day celebration at Panther Island in Fort Worth. A military flyover about 11 a.m. will kick off the Veterans Day parade. A motorcade will then roll down North Forest Park Blvd., along the Clear Fork section of the Trinity Trails system to Rotary Plaza, then back to Panther Island. Spectators can picnic along the Trinity River while viewing the parade on the west side of downtown Fort Worth.

Veterans Day Celebration & Sign Dedication

The Belton Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicating its Patriot Way Brick Walk at 8:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend the event, which will be located at 412 East Central Avenue in Belton.

2021 Veterans Day Dinner and Dance

Dripping Springs Distilling will host a Veterans Day Dinner and Dance from Hot Texas Swing Band. The event is free and open to all veterans and their families.

The dance will be held from 5-8 p.m. at 5330 Bell Springs Road in Dripping Springs.

Veterans Day Bingo

The Texas Heritage Vineyard will be hosting at Bingo night, with proceeds going to the local Veterans Relations office. Bingo will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at 3245 East US 290 in Fredericksburg.

Waco Veterans Day Parade

The city of Waco invites people out to celebrate the nation’s veterans. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will go along Austin Avenue, from 12th Street to 3rd Street.

Nov. 12-13

Heroes & Hot Rods Veterans Day Car Show

The 15th annual Heroes and Hot Rod’s Veterans Day Car Show will be held in downtown Bastrop, Nov. 12-13. The car show, in honor of America’s veterans, is free and can be found at 904 Main Street in Bastrop. Patriotic Pops Veterans Day Celebration

Jeff Tyzik, Dallas Symphony Orchestra conductor, will be providing an uplifting tribute honoring the nation’s men and women in uniform. Nov. 13

Vinovium Veterans Day Benefit for Camp Shield

The Vinovium Veterans Day Benefit for Camp Shied will take place from 1-7 p.m., Nov. 13, at 214 Edmonds Avenue in Johnson City. The event, which helps empower female veterans, will feature country music artist Kimberly Dunn.

Veterans Day Walk

A Veterans Day walk will be held from 6:30-10 a.m. at the Pearland Recreation Center and Natatorium, 4141 Bailey Road in Pearland.

Veterans Day Concert

The Helotes Area Community Band will host its 2021 Veterans Day Concert from 3-5 p.m. at the Helotes Fire Department, 12951 Bandera Road in Helotes. This community event is free to the public. On-site accessible parking is complimentary.
