Cheer the hero and boo the villain in the Silver Spur’s fifth annual melodrama, “Boom Town, or The Sinister Slickster’s Fuelish Frame-up” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. July 18 at the Saldo Silver Spur Theater. It’s chock full of slapstick and satire on stage; on screen, the show includes an original silent-movie chase sequence through the streets of Salado.

To the Moon: The American Space Program in the 1960s
Continuing through July 20, celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The Lyndon Baines Johnson Library is hosting “To the Moon.”
The exhibit will cover events from the Sputniks through the first moon landing of Apollo 11 in 1969.
Each step of the space programs will be featured, as well as the milestone flights of astronauts Alan Shepard, John Glenn and Ed White.
