‘The Princess and the Pea’
The Cultural Activities Center is hosting an open audition at 10 a.m. Aug. 3 for
all princes and princesses entering grades 1-12.
There is no cost to audition, but pre-registration is requested. You can pre-register on the day of the audition by arriving at 9:30 a.m. No preparation for the audition is required; just come and be ready to have fun. If cast, there will be a $75 fee for the week-long camp.
Performances of the play will be Aug. 8 at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The show is open to the public. Tickets are $5 per child and $10 per adult and can be purchased at the CAC box office in advance or one hour before the show.
A Royal Party will be held before the 3 p.m. show. Admission is $20 and includes snacks, a chance to make your own crown or tiara, and one adult and child ticket to the show. You must RSVP for the party by Aug. 4.

17th Annual Performance of ‘Salado Legends’
The 17th Annual Performance of “Salado Legends” will be performed at the Tablerock Amphitheater Saturday. Dinner will begin at 7:15 p.m. and the performance will begin at 8:15 p.m.
Watch as history, legend and memories meet on cool summer evenings under the stars. The performances weave the legends of the Tonkawa Indians, the dreams of Spanish explorers and the hopes of the Scottish settlers into a panoramic tale.
Tickets can be purchased online or from First State Bank, Fletchers Books and Antiques and Compass Bank. The meal is catered and reservations are required.
Ticket prices are $17 for adults, $5 for children and $8 for the meal (adult or child).

‘Fritz Henle: In Search of Beauty’
The Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin presents “Fritz Henle: In Search of Beauty.”
The exhibition celebrates the art of photographer Fritz Henle and coincides with the centenary of his birth. While Henle’s subjects and assignments remained diverse and complex, he always managed to capture the meaning and passion an image’s true forms could reveal and convey.
The exhibit can be seen at the Ransom Center Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., with Thursday hours extended to 7 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays the galleries are open from noon-5 p.m. The galleries are closed on Mondays.

‘To the Moon: The American Space Program in the 1960s’
Continuing through Monday, celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The Lyndon Baines Johnson Library is hosting “To the Moon.”
The exhibit will cover events from the Sputniks through the first moon landing of Apollo 11 in 1969.
Each step of the space programs will be featured, as well as the milestone flights of astronauts Alan Shepard, John Glenn and Ed White.
