‘Solar Max’
“Solar Max” allows viewers to vividly experience the sun’s power and beauty. Visit the Mayborn Planetarium and Space Theater at Central Texas College to experience the hot phenomena in the cool comfort of the planetarium.
Audiences will be able to look directly at the sun and see it as never before. Enlightening and exciting, “Solar Max” is the story of the heroics of NASA and ESA engineers as they recover the lost Solar and Heliospheric Observatory satellite from the depths of space and resurrect the billion-dollar portal to the sun.
Show time is 3 p.m. Saturdays and a special showing will be 2 p.m. Monday.
Tickets for the Saturday shows are $7 for adults and $6 for children younger than 12. Tickets for the Monday Matinee are $4.

‘The Princess and the Pea’
The Temple Cultural Activities Center is hosting an open audition at 10 a.m. Aug. 3 for all boys and girls entering grades 1-12.
There is no cost to audition, but pre-registration is requested.
Pre-register at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the audition. If cast, there will be a $75 fee for the week-long camp.
Performances of the play will be 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8. The show is open to the public.
Tickets are $5 per child and $10 per adult and can be purchased at the CAC box office now up to one hour before the show.
A royal party will be held before the 3 p.m. show. Admission is $20 and includes snacks, a chance to make your own crown or tiara, and one adult and child ticket to the show. You must R.S.V.P. for the party by Aug. 4.

‘Salado Legends’
The 17th Annual Performance of “Salado Legends” will be performed at the Tablerock Amphitheater Saturday. Dinner will begin at 7:15 p.m. and the performance will begin at 8:15 p.m.
Watch as history, legend and memories meet on cool summer evenings under the stars.
The performances weave the legends of the Tonkawa Indians, the dreams of Spanish explorers and the hopes of the Scottish settlers into a panoramic tale.

The Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin presents “Fritz Henle: In Search of Beauty.”
The exhibition celebrates the art of photographer Fritz Henle and coincides with the centenary of his birth.
While Henle’s subjects and assignments remained diverse and complex, he always managed to capture the meaning and passion images could reveal.
The exhibit can be seen 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, with Thursday hours extended to 7 p.m. at the Ransom Center.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the galleries are open from noon-5 p.m. The galleries are closed on Mondays.
