It’s Midnight Madness! We are throwing our second softball tournament of the year. If you remember our last tournament we had 48 teams battle it out for a chance to win $1,000 for their unit funds. This time, we have 36 teams that will compete for the title in a 24-hour, non-stop, action-packed tournament. We’ve had many requests for a softball tournament like this, so we’re making it happen. It’ll start on Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. and finish at 6 p.m. the following day. We’ll definitely have all kinds of fun. We do have a couple more slots open, so if you have a team that would like to play, give us a call as soon as possible. You can also mark your calendar and come out to support your units on their path to victory.

Coming up on Aug. 25, Command Sgt. Maj. Donald Felt and I will be hosting a fun-filled physical training session in the form of a BOSS run. We’ll be standing tall in front of the III Corps flag pole at 6:30 a.m. to salute the flag. Wear your orange BOSS shirt and summer PTs and don’t worry about a reflective vest or belt as the orange shirt is hard to miss. Before we start the run we’re going to have a Soldiers vs. sergeants major tug-of-war. This is a great opportunity for every BOSS representative on Fort Hood to come out and motivate the masses!

The very next day, Aug. 26, we’re throwing our end-of-summer pool party! It’s a luau! Pluckers is catering the event with a buffet style extravaganza that can’t be beat. Can’t forget the limbo contest! You could win and walk away with a surprise prize!

Come beat the heat at the 4th Sustainment Brigade’s pool, located on 58th Street and Support Avenue. Catch your rays to keep up with those summer days with BOSS.
