Fort Hoodís Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program and the Special Olympics are teaming up Friday for their 14th annual bowling tournament. We need your help, too! Come volunteer with us on Friday and Saturday at the Phantom Warrior Lanes. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers and weíll have FREE bowling at the end of both days.

Did you know that with enough volunteer hours you can earn a medal? The Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal is worth 15 promotion points. Join us and rack up some hours.

Join us Nov. 18 for our second Soldiers versus senior enlisted paintball game! Encourage your senior leaders to participate and make sure they know to bring their ďA-game.Ē At our last encounter, the Soldiers showed the senior leaders how itís done. Command Sgt. Maj. Archie L. Davis Jr. and his team didnít stand a chance and we need to keep it that way. Meet at the Phantom Warrior Center 1 p.m. Nov. 18 to join in the fun!

November 19-21 how would an all-expenses-paid lake fishing trip sound? Well, itís a reality but one part is missing. Itís you! We have 28 slots left but they wonít last very long. Hereís whatís covered: transportation, lodging, fishing gear, boats, food and more! All you have to do is sign up with the BOSS office! There is a simple paper you need to fill out and submit and then youíre good to go. Hurry though, with more than 50,000 Soldiers on Fort Hood, who knows how long there will be slots left! Who do we have to thank for this great opportunity? Take a Soldier Fishing is a great organization that really wants to give back to the Soldiers that put their lives on the line every single day to defend our country. Thatís pretty hooah, if you ask me.

Looking for something to do for Turkey Day? Join us on Nov. 24 for a feast! Get a seat to eat at 3 p.m. at U.S. Club located on 2nd Street and Business 190 in Killeen. The meal will be free for military personnel and family members of single and unaccompanied Soldiers, so be sure to mark your calendars and join us in this celebration.

Fort Hood BOSS is rolling out new events every single week and you can stay in the know! I personally send out a distribution e-mail to over 3,000 senior leaders, Soldiers and BOSS representatives.

BOSS is also on the web! Check out our website and print out a calendar for November! Itís only a few clicks away at www.hood.army.mil/boss. Weíre also on Facebook at www.facebook.com/forthoodboss. We can also be reached at 287-6116. If you have any questions, comments or concerns with anything weíve put together let us know! The great thing about our BOSS program is that its all about you, the Soldier! Your ideas, your views and our future are with Fort Hood BOSS.
