This week, we would like to give a special “Thank you” to everyone from the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program who came out over the four-day weekend and volunteered for the 14th annual Special Olympics bowling tournament. With more than 300 competitors, the event was a huge success. Check out the Sentinel coverage on page C1.

It’s paintball madness time again! Join us this afternoon for our second Soldiers vs senior enlisted paintball game! Encourage your senior leaders to participate and make sure they know to bring their A-game. At our last encounter, the Soldiers showed the senior leaders how it’s done. Command Sgt. Maj. Archie L. Davis Jr. and his team didn’t stand a chance and we need to keep it that way.

Meet at the Phantom Warrior Center at 1 p.m. today to join in the fun! If you want to play, its only $15. For your money, you get 500 paintballs, air, a mask and a paintball marker.

All of the seats for the fishing trip that is scheduled for this weekend have been filled.

Looking for something to do for Turkey day? Join us Wednesday for a feast! Get a seat to eat at 3 p.m. at the U.S. Club, located on 2nd Street and Business 190 in Killeen. The meal is free for military personnel and dependents of single and unaccompanied Soldiers, so be sure to mark your calendars and join us in this celebration of thankfulness and gratitude. We’ll have a huge mix of the traditional Thanksgiving items including baked turkey, deep fried turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, delicious stuffing, some very tasty yams, slow-cooked spiral cut ham, a savory cranberry sauce and much more! This is one meal you don’t want to miss.

Fort Hood BOSS is rolling out new events every single week, and you too can stay in the know! We send out a distribution e-mail to more than 3,000 senior leaders, Soldiers and BOSS representatives. If you would like your name to be on this list, contact our office.

Another way to find out what’s happening with BOSS is to check out our website and print up a calendar of events. It’s only a few clicks away at We’re also on Facebook at We can also be reached at 287-6116.
